Subject: Siloam Lodge Honored - March 29, 2011

Siloam Lodge of Westborough was recently honored for its Masonic Angel Fund work by the Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber presented Siloam one of their three annual “Champions of Education” awards at the March 24th scholastic and champion of education awards breakfast at the Doubletree Hotel in Westborough.

This is the second time Siloam has earned the Champion of Education Humanitarian Award. The MAF was also honored by the Chamber in 2009. Siloam has been active in the Masonic Angel Fund program since 2000 and was the fifth lodge in Massachusetts to establish an MAF chapter. The trustees of Siloam’s Masonic Angel Fund include, Bro. Ken Young, Bro. Herb Arnold, Bro. Mark Horenstein and Wor. Len Anderson.

Margaret Donohoe, principal of Proctor School in Northborough summarized the program and its impact on the lives of area school children perfectly, “The Masonic Angels are a tremendous asset to our school communities.  This organization has been instrumental in making a difference in the lives of so many children and families.  They provide a strong link between home and school by providing financial support that enables children in need to access programs, activities, and services that otherwise would be beyond the school and families’ reach.  They strive to fulfill their requests within a very short amount of time, often within a few hours.  They make dreams come true.”
